Where do you find your inspiration?

I am constantly trying to keep up with the latest nail trends in the business and everuthing beauty related and find myself spending one too many hours on the laptop hunting for ideas and inspiration. However I wondered how do you find yours?

I’m very much a guilty Tumblr addict. It’s so easy to use you can just simply type in what your looking for in the tags area and thousands of photos pop up. All the photos seem to be of a good quality too which definitely helps when trying to look at complicated designs on nails. Tumblr also allows you to create you own blog for FREE, with this function you can add your own photos, videos, text or you can re-blog photos onto your own blog. There you will have you own private diary of all the photos you love. Tumblr also seems to have taken off in the last 3 years so whatever you’re looking for it’s bound to be on there somewhere!

dcdcSalon Geek
Salon Geek is a forum for everything hair and beauty related  This is the perfect sight for asking questions, gaining advice and also showcasing your own work and receiving crucial feedback. You can set up your own account which allows you to comment on any forums as well as set them up too. I tend to create forums about where I can buy specific products from or advice on facial products etc. Most people are very kind too and open to helping you, no matter what age you are professional or still in training. The website is once again free but also shows you news from the industry and special events.

download (2)Facebook and Twitter
As we all know Facebook is definitely one of the most popular social sites along with Twitter. However it’s very hard to search exactly what you’re looking for which is why I find it hard to find inspiration. On the plus side they are both perfect for finding company’s such as make-up brands pages. Most pages are regularly updated with the latest products, information and news as well as competitions you are free to enter….everyone loves a freebie 😉

Scratch Magazine
Scratch-pink-logo-lrgOnce a month I look forward to opening the post of my Scratch Magazine subscription. The magazine has been running since 2003 and has been created for nail professionals. Inside it features the latest nail trends, tips, products with information about the latest news within the industry. The magazine contains everything you could ever want to know or learn, from step by step photos to the latest from social networking sites. The price for an annual subscription is £40.80 inc VAT but its 100% worth it especially considering how modern, edgy but classical the magazines look.

Over the countless hours I’ve spent scanning the internet I’ve also comes across Pinterest and Instagram. Both never seemed to grab my attention that much, however they can be handy. Pinterest is similar to Tumblr where you can search for almost anything and Instagram you can showcase your own work to almost anyone and everyone.

PLEASE COMMENT BELOW AND LET ME KNOW WHERE YOU FIND YOUR INSPIRATION 🙂
